Job Description

Abacus Staffing is seeking professional, reliable, and multilingual individuals to join our network of On-Call Interpreters and Translators. We are looking for candidates fluent in English and any additional language to assist with communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency.

Interpreters and translators will provide language support in a variety of settings, including healthcare, manufacturing, human resources, customer service, education, legal, and community services. Assignments may be conducted in person, over the phone, or virtually depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken conversations accurately and professionally between parties.
• Translate written documents, forms, correspondence, and communications as needed.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication while maintaining neutrality and confidentiality.
• Respond to on-call assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of completed assignments when required.
• Follow all company policies regarding confidentiality, professionalism, and data privacy.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and at least one additional language.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to accurately interpret and translate information.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation for in-person assignments, if applicable.
• Previous interpreter, translator, customer service, healthcare, or community outreach experience is preferred but not required.
