Metal Finish - Paint Prep

Position Summary

The Metal Finish Paint Prep Technician prepares metal components for painting and finishing operations by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and inspecting surfaces to ensure proper coating adhesion and appearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces for painting and coating applications.
• Remove rust, scale, weld spatter, and surface imperfections.
• Sand and grind surfaces to required finish specifications.
• Mask and protect areas not designated for paint application.
• Inspect prepared surfaces for defects and quality compliance.
• Operate hand tools, grinders, and sanding equipment safely.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the work area.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing, finishing, or paint preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to use sanding and grinding equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
