Utility Worker

Position Summary

The Utility Worker supports daily operations by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and functionality across campus facilities. This role involves performing a variety of custodial, maintenance, and general labor duties to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Schedule:

1. 9a-5:30pm Mon-Fri
2. 9a-5:30pm Mon-Fri
3. 2:30pm-11pm Mon-Fri
4. 2:30pm-11pm Mon-Fri

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas
• Assist with waste removal, recycling, and disposal in accordance with university policies
• Support setup and breakdown of campus events, including moving furniture and equipment
• Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs, and assisting skilled trades staff as needed
• Maintain outdoor areas by picking up debris and ensuring walkways are safe and presentable
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure work environment
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with campus community members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in custodial, maintenance, or general labor roles is a plus
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
